# The Entries journal

> Find any entry by period, kind, account, category or search — and see the total of what you’re looking at.

**Entries** is the list of everything recorded in the household, newest first.

## Filters

- **Period** — This month, 3 months, Year or All.
- **Kind** — Expenses (the default), Income, Transfers, Exchanges or All.
- **Account** and **Category** — narrow to one account or category.
- **Search** — matches comments, amounts, account and category names across your whole history, not only the entries on screen.

## Total in view

Under the filters, **Total in view** adds up everything that matches, in your base currency. Voided entries and categories kept out of reports are not counted.

The journal shows the latest 500 matching entries; the total always covers all of them. Narrow the period to see older ones.

## Arriving from a report

Clicking a figure on the overview or in a report opens the journal filtered to exactly the entries behind it. A **From a report** label shows the applied period and categories; **Clear** removes it.
